NeuCity

The inspiration for NeuCity came from the white oak that is the top of the table. I received the piece of wood in 2004 and was immediately intrigued by the impression that it looked like a natural crack in the earth's surface.
I have always been concerned by the fine balance that is required to act in harmony with our natural world. As I get older I have become more concerned, as part of the human race, that we are pushing our world to the breaking point
In NeuCity, I imagined that we have damaged our world to such an extent that we as a species are required to live underground. There we not only survive but we recreate some of our most treasured monuments from the past. As time passes the natural world heals itself and a crack appears overhead signalling our re-emergence to the surface.
